As I mentioned yesterday, we spent the Fourth of July Weekend up at Seneca Lake with some close friends. I have more photos of our adventures to share later, but first I wanted to share the outfit I wore on our nice dinner out to Hazelnut Kitchen. It was about a 30 minute drive from our house, but totally worth it as it was completely delicious farm to table freshness and goodness. I would definitely recommend it if you are ever in the Ithaca area.

Today I am heading to the beach/aquarium with my little guy today. Trying to soak up as much one on one time as humanly possible with this little fellow before our family grows at the end of the summer and I’m trying to balance being a mama of two.

Floral Fit & Flare

I’m tiny, yet curvy (even more so now post baby), so the classic fit & flare has always been a favorite silhouette of mine. I apologize for falling off the world (wide web) these past few weeks. It’s just that it’s summer time, and I have been having way to much fun enjoying it rather than writing about it. I’ve been taking photos along the way, but I’ve been too busy to bother with editing and uploading. Sorry, not sorry. These were taken back on our trip to Rock Hall, MD. We were on our way to the rehearsal dinner, and we passed a drive-through wildlife refuge. There was no question, we had to turn back around and take a peek. We saw a hawk, baby deer, a few more birds and a gorgeous landscape which turned out to be a beautiful back drop for a photo op as well.

This summer has been epic for road travel. Who would have thought we could handle this many adventures as a family of three? I have to say, Nico is taking these road trips like a champ and he seems to enjoy every new place we take him. I have so much to share from the rest of Rock Hall, Cape May, and Rehoboth, and I promise I will give it my best effort, but I have to warn you we have the North Fork, Deep Creek Lake, and the OBX on the horizon!

I am so excited to finally share these photos with of my collaboration with Stella & Dot showcasing their spring jewelry and accessories line. I worked with Jessica Sigler to style the shoot, and we definitely had a tough time deciding which pieces to use as there were so many amazing options! I love all the pieces we ended up choosing, but I am especially in love with the colorful Frida necklace and the Citrine Perf Double Clutch. There’s nothing like taking a simple black and white outfit and turning up the volume with so many different pops of color. 2013 Fashion Round Up

These are a few of my favorite outfit posts from 2013. The past year has been a wild ride full of ups and downs, but I am so grateful for how everything has turned out. These past four months have been especially wonderful watching my little boy grow up right before my eyes and spending time during the holidays as a family of three. I am going to soak in this last week of being a stay-at-home mom and enjoy every minute of snuggles before going back to work. Hope you all have been enjoying the little break, and wishing you all the best in the new year to come. I’m looking forward to a bright future ahead in 2014!

I Didn’t Listen

I didn’t listen. They told me not to wear white. “You’re a new mom. Moms just can’t wear white.” I despised this statement. I thought to myself, “I can rock white. Just because I’m a mom, now I can’t wear white? But I like white. Who cares what they say. I’m going to be a rebel and do it anyway.” So I flounced around in ivory lace skirts and more recently in this winter white blazer. Well, I’m sad to say, everyone was right. This white blazer lasted no more than an hour on our leisurely Saturday afternoon. I won’t go into details, but you can probably imagine a scenario or two that could have happened to my white blazer. The only upside was that I got to (had to) buy a new sweater to wear for the rest of the day. The take away from this experience: I am not going to stop wearing white. However, I will most likely save my white wearing days for those when I am back in the office with no little munchkins around.

It’s starting to get chilly here in New York City, and I am getting super excited for a little mini vacay we are taking to Florida on Wednesday! The weather is looking nice and warm for our trip, and I have a fresh mani/pedi for the occasion (thanks hubby for watching Nico so I could enjoy 90 minutes of bliss). It’s time to get packin’ over here.

Fall Fresh

It’s officially fall, which means it’s jacket season! I had been searching for a great camo jacket for awhile, and finally found this one on sale from JC Penney. If you hurry, they may still have the sale going! This outfit is proof that you can dress up any simple basics (white tee and jeans…boring) by adding some fabulous accessories (camo jacket, studded combat boots, statement necklace and bracelet…no longer boring!) We headed to the pumpkin patch this past weekend to pick out some fall decor for our Brooklyn abode. It started as a crisp fall morning, and changed into a hot summer afternoon, so I eventually had to ditch the jacket, but that is the fun of fall layering, right?

Retro Rainbow

ModCloth had a sale recently, and I couldn’t help but snag a few retro-style items from their online store. This rainbow frock totally brightens my day, and I’m in love with these new cat-eye sunnies. I’m also excited that I was able to score another non-maternity dress to rock while prego. That way, I can also wear it post-bump! Little Man is getting bigger and bigger. And Mom is too. These photos were taken at 26 weeks, and today I hit week 27. 3rd trimester here we go!

After a beautiful weekend of sunshine, we have been getting some crazy storms up here! I have to say, I’m glad it wasn’t the opposite. We spent the weekend getting some errands done, picking up supplies for a small DIY house project, hanging out with friends for a birthday party and a cookout, playing some corn hole, and an impromptu trip to Brighton Beach/Coney Island.

Please send some love and prayers this way as my Uncle is currently having surgery today. He’s been through a lot these past few months, and this surgery is extremely crucial to his health and well-being. So any positive thoughts you can spare would be much appreciated!
