Bloom Bloom Pow

In between all of the rain we have had this spring, somewhere in there was a sunny day. These flowing pants were perfect on this day paired with a tank, some shades, and a few baubles. Dressy enough to look like a human being and not portray my usual tired mom-vibe, but not too dressy that I couldn’t run around and climb things with my toddler.

These shots were actually taken in my parent’s yard over spring break with the trees in full bloom. It’s stunning there this time of year. My Dad is quite the photog, wouldn’t you say? He puts up with me, and we got the shots in before everyone woke up from nap time crying so there’s that…

Can’t believe Memorial Day Weekend is already right around the bend. Looking forward to a busy, exciting summer ahead. And speaking of that sun…it’s back out today ūüôā

Happy Hump Day!

Mix & Match

I love to mix and match different patterns, and florals with stripes are probably my most favorite combo. ¬†As long as you stay within the same color palette, I think it works. ¬†I was happy to have an excuse to get all dolled up for my friend’s bridal shower. ¬†It was a beautiful event, and I was very grateful to be invited!

I am working away from my local farm fresh cafe this morning, and headed home to pack this afternoon for our trip to Maryland for Passover & Easter.  We are lucky both of our families live close to each other so that we are able to spend the holidays with everyone!  I know Nico is especially excited to see his fam!

Hope you all have a wonderful holiday!

Pattern Mixing

Here is the last of my summer outfit posts, and it’s definitely feeling like fall now. ¬†To keep wearing these pieces into the new season, you could always throw on a pair of tights under the skirt or a blazer over the top. ¬†I am very into getting as much use as possible out of every article of clothing in my closet for as long as I can! ¬†I love the idea of pattern mixing, and I think it works as long as you stay in a similar color palette. ¬†Stripes and florals are two of my favorites, so why not mix them together?

This past weekend, we took Nico to the pumpkin patch, and my what a difference from last year to this year! ¬†He was so excited about the orange “balls” as he called them, and was crawling all around the patch exploring. ¬†We drove out to Stakey’s Farm on the North Fork of Long Island for pumpkin picking, apple cider donuts, and a corn maze. ¬†We also stopped off a Briermere Farm for apples and a raspberry creme pie. ¬†One way to get me to embrace the colder weather is certainly through my stomach.

Hope you are all having a great week so far!

Floral Fit & Flare

I’m tiny, yet curvy (even more so now post baby), so the classic fit & flare has always been a favorite silhouette of mine. ¬†I found this Pim & Larkin floral beauty on sale via Piperlime, and I had to snag it for wedding season. ¬†Unfortunately, this one is sold out, but they have other gorgeous options as well. ¬†I¬†particularly love the two black and white striped fit & flare options you’ll see on this page.

I apologize for falling off the world (wide web) these past few weeks. ¬†It’s just that it’s summer time, and I have been having way to much fun enjoying it rather than writing¬†about it. ¬†I’ve been taking photos along the way, but I’ve been too busy to bother with editing and uploading. ¬†Sorry, not sorry. These were taken back on our trip to Rock Hall, MD. ¬†We were on our way to the rehearsal dinner, and we passed a drive-through wildlife refuge. ¬†There was no question, we had to turn back around and take a peek. ¬†We saw a hawk, baby deer, a few more birds and a gorgeous landscape which turned out to be a beautiful back drop for a photo op as well.

This summer has been epic for road travel.  Who would have thought we could handle this many adventures as a family of three?  I have to say, Nico is taking these road trips like a champ and he seems to enjoy every new place we take him.  I have so much to share from the rest of Rock Hall, Cape May, and Rehoboth, and I promise I will give it my best effort, but I have to warn you we have the North Fork, Deep Creek Lake, and the OBX on the horizon!

Hope you all are enjoying your summer as much as I am.

I’m not usually one for a wide leg pant, but I could not resist this vibrant floral pair from Forever 21. ¬†If you are looking for a pair of pants as comfortable as pajamas but acceptable to wear outside of the house, then these are definitely the pants for you! ¬†I wore these last weekend on a long walk to the Brooklyn Botanical Garden, and they were both flowy and light. ¬†I was clearly excited that spring had arrived as you can see from¬†the multitude of florals in my attire. ¬†We had a great time exploring and seeing the new buds coming up showing¬†the first signs of the season. ¬†I am definitely planning on going back here again toward the end of the month when things are in full bloom. ¬†I took a few more photos of our trip to the botanical gardens, so stay tuned next week!

Happy Friday!

Spring Has Sprung {Guilty Jean Series #1}

Here is the first outfit post from my Guilty Jean series, and this is one of my favorite looks of the bunch. ¬†The weather was gorgeous for the first time this spring, and I was clearly loving it! ¬†This look is girly, flirty, and fun, but definitely has a bit of edge as well. ¬†When I found this dress and floral crown, I immediately couldn’t wait to add my Guilty Jean jewelry to complete the look. ¬†I love how the skull and bow necklace sits at the perfect length, and the pop of turquoise on the bracelet is a perfect compliment to the pink and black color palette. ¬†Spring has finally sprung!

Of course, now that I am back in New York, I am feeling much chillier temps this week.  I am eager for that sunny, warm weather I experienced in Maryland this past weekend!  Come back to me!

This week has been a bit busy with unpacking, eating Easter leftovers, a girl’s night, and tonight I have photography class. Hope you are all having a good week so far!

Easter Favorites

In celebration of Easter this weekend, I wanted to share some of my favorite things about the holiday.

1. Dyeing Eggs:

Nothing like the old school dye tablets in the vinegar.  My family has been dyeing our eggs with Paas since before I can remember.

2.  Peeps

My absolute favorite Easter Basket treat. ¬†My trick for getting them to stay softer longer is to keep them in a ziplock bag. ¬†Of course, you can always pop them in the microwave to warm them up. ¬†Just make sure it’s only for a few seconds or else they blow up! ¬†Oh yeah, and the chicks are my favorite.

3.  Potato Salad

This dish is served at our Easter table every year, and it’s something I look forward to. ¬†It’s simple, yet delicious! ¬†Here is a recipe I found on Pinterest from Key Ingredient that is most similar to the one we use. ¬†This one only serves 4, so you’ll have to pump it up if you have a large gathering!

4.  Floral Dresses

My sister and I used to get dressed up in the most frilly floral dresses for church every Easter. ¬†Although some years it’s tough because of chilly weather, I still love to put on a floral or spring-like dress to celebrate the occasion. ¬†Here is a gorgeous vintage style floral dress I discovered on ModCloth:

5.  Pastel Polish

Easter is the perfect time to switch up your polish from darker hues to pastels. ¬†Essie is my favorite nail polish brand, and here is their Spring 2013 Collection for sale at Kohl’s:

What are your Easter and holiday favorites?  Would love to hear what you have to share.

Wishing everyone a Happy Friday and a Happy Easter this weekend!  For those celebrating Passover, I hope you are having a great holiday as well.

I don’t know about you, but I am OVER this cold weather! ¬†All the talk of snow and chill has me jonesin’ for spring. ¬†I couldn’t help but scour the online shopping world for some of my favorite on-trend pieces that I cannot wait to get my hands on. ¬†If only I could wear them right now! ¬†Although I tend to wear a ton of black in the winter time, I am very excited to sport some color this spring! ¬†This little collection above makes me happy, because it reminds me that spring is just around the corner.
In other news, congratulations to “Befab4lyfe” for winning the Flair Accessories earring giveaway!!! ¬†Please inbox me your shipping info to { gina dot notes26 at gmail dot com }. ¬†Then, I will have these gorgeous iridescent studs on the way to your door as soon as possible! ¬†Thanks to all who entered the giveaway.
I am ticking off a bucket list item tonight, that I cannot wait to share with you next week!
