I blinked, and it was the end of January! Holy smokes. February is right around the corner, and yesterday was the first time I thought about Valentine’s Day. It’s not a huge holiday in our family, but we still do like to do something nice to celebrate at some point during the week. Though as of today, we’ve made absolutely no plans, and I have no gifts for my people’s yet! Oopsie!

I do, however, have a cute outfit! Haha. I found this sweet little off the shoulder lace shift dress at Tobi in a wine color, and I think it makes an adorable little date night dress for a romantic evening out. I pulled together some other favorites from my closet to complete the look, and now I just need to figure out somewhere to go, right? ūüėČ

What are you doing for Valentine’s Day? Do you have any plans? Going out? Staying in? Did you buy any gifts for your loved ones? Spouse? Partner? Littles? I need ideas, you guys!! LOL!

In other news, I hit 11 weeks of my pregnancy with Baby #3 this week, and I’ll be heading to the doc tomorrow, so I would absolutely appreciate any prayers or good vibes you could send my way! I am feeling okay. A little nauseous and super exhausted the past few weeks, but overall it’s been easier than my last two pregnancies, so I can’t complain too much! I think someone upstairs is being kind to me this time around know that I have two little dudes to chase on the regular.

I have been feeling a little more energy this week and been listening to my body when it comes to nourishment and exercise. My January Challenge Group is ending tomorrow and my February one will be starting on Feb 5th and is all about SELF-LOVE!!! I plan to continue to listen to my body and do what it needs for myself and baby, and I’m looking forward to supporting all of the amazing ladies who have been crushing their programs and those who will be starting fresh this month as well! There is still a little bit of time and a few spots left to sign up to join us on Monday, so please reach out if you’re ready to take action and reach some goals this upcoming month!

Hope you all are having an amazing week, and sending you lots of love!

{36} Lately…

Lately I’ve been…

reading¬†¬†Creativity Inc.¬†by Ed Catmull, the co-founder of Pixar on creativity and inspiration in business. It’s one that I have wanted to read for awhile having worked in the animation industry for 8 years. Now with running my own business, I figured it would be a good read.

writing ¬†Content for my next team call I am leading for my coaches on time management. So many people ask how the heck I have time to do everything that I do…I am no magic fairy. I have the same amount of time as everyone else. Some days I have it together…and some days I am a crazy person. It’s all about prioritizing, making the most of your time, and nixing things in life that are huge time wasters!

listening ¬†To the rain falling down on my window pane…and also, the laundry machine.

thinking¬†About the holidays. Can’t believe it’s all right around the corner. Although it can be stressful at times, it’s definitely my most favorite time of the year.

smelling¬†¬†You don’t want to know…but I have two kids in diapers at home…so take a wild guess. (GROSS, Gina!) I know, but that is my life ūüėČ

watching¬†¬†I don’t watch a ton of TV anymore, but I do allow myself a bit here and there. I have been watching Orange is the New Black on Netflix, and I am a fan!

wishing ¬†A lifetime of happiness for my BFF who got married last weekend. And for my cousin who is saying “I do” on Saturday.

hoping  For sunshine tomorrow.

wearing  Another pair of jeans from my pre-pregnancy closet. SCORE! Loving this 21 Day Fix! Also a flowy top, striped cardigan, and red rainboots.

loving ¬†This personalized bar necklace from Brickyard Buffalo. Thinking about this as an updated “Mommy Necklace” to have both of my boys close to my heart.

wanting ¬†A raincoat. I can’t believe I have lived in NYC for over 8 years now, and have never owned a raincoat. What is wrong with me?¬†What do you all think of this one?

needing ¬†Some hot tea with honey. It’s feeling like fall today.

Summer Sunlight

Summer sunlight peeking through the trees as the sun is starting to set. ¬†Probably my favorite moment of the day. ¬†The magic hour brings me a peaceful calm. ¬†It strange how only a few years ago, the sun going down was a symbol of the start of my evening. ¬†It meant that it was time to start prepping to get ready for a night on the town with my man or the girls. ¬†I’ve always been a night owl, and I lived for summer nights exploring New York City. ¬†Dressing up, hair, make-up, the whole sha-bing.

Nowadays, the sunset usually¬†represents quiet for me. ¬†Time to reflect on the adventures from the day, give the baby a bath, put him to bed, and then enjoy dinner with my husband and maybe even a glass of wine. ¬†This particular evening, however, we were on family vacation which meant Bubbe and Pop Pop were eager to babysit. ¬†So after Nico’s bedtime, my husband and I were able to go out on our own little adventure. ¬†We started by taking these photos and others in the summer sunlight. ¬†We walked around Cape May, and had a delicious romantic dinner for two at Louisa’s. ¬†I guess we realized how little we get out after 8pm these days, and so we didn’t want the night to end. ¬†We walked around in the moonlight, shared a kiss under the stars (or two), and played video games and skee-ball at the arcade until close. ¬†We felt like two teenagers running around on a summer night. ¬†Yes, things have changed. ¬†Instead of closing down bars, we are closing down arcades at a family beach town. ¬†Instead of going to sleep at 4am, I am waking up at 6am.

But I’m okay with that.

Hope you are all having a great week so far!

Red Rain Boots

Rain Boots:  Hunter / Leg Warmers: similar / Tribal Leggings: Forever 21 Рsimilar / Coat: Old Navy / Top: Urban Outfitters / Necklace: Guilty Jean / Lip: Lancome Red Haute

These photos were taken on our trip to the lake house in New Hampshire on a chilly, rainy day.  Instead of swimming or hiking, we spent this day eating Mexican food, browsing the local Wolfeboro shops, playing games, and drinking wine.  These boots were a recent gift from the hubby for our 3rd wedding anniversary.  Totally picked out on his own, mind you!  Perfect timing for rainy season, and it seemed appropriate to share today as the rain is currently falling.

Trending in Tartan

Tartan Jacket: Gifted РAlso like this one  / Shirt: Urban Outfitters / Pants: Forever 21 Рsimilar (a steal!) / Sneakers: ALDO Рsimilar / Watch: Betsey Johnson / Sunglasses: Street Vendor NYC / Hat: Gifted / Lip: MAC Red

I received this tartan jacket two Christmases ago, before tartan became popular this year. ¬†I’ve got to hand it to my aunt for being ahead of the curve on that one. ūüėČ ¬†I wore this a lot in December, but was too busy to capture it on camera, so I decided to break it out again this weekend since we had some warmer weather. ¬†And by warmer, I mean above freezing. ¬†Thank God. ¬†It’s been insanely cold here, with more snow than I could possibly want. ¬†Including a snowfall as I type. ¬†While I am enjoying a lot of new outerwear this season, I have to say, I am counting down until spring.

Hope you all enjoyed the Superbowl blowout this year.  Hopefully you had some great parties to keep you entertained, since the game was anything but exciting! Congrats to the Seahawks.

Looking forward to a semi-chill week ahead.

Sweet November

So, when I had to remove my white blazer the other day, it was pretty chilly out, and I had nothing left but short sleeves. ¬†In my attempt to keep warm, we stumbled into a little boutique in Park Slope, Brooklyn called Habit. ¬†It was my first time in the store, and I was quite delighted! ¬†It was filled with lots of stylish clothing, jewelry, and great accessories at prices that don’t break the bank. ¬†I found this sweater wrap to keep me warm and decided to throw in this hat while I was at it. ¬†I’m sure they will both get plenty of wear this season and next.

I am just about finished packing for our trip to Florida! ¬†Looking forward to a relaxing trip with my parents and grandmother at her condo in St. Pete Beach. ¬†We leave at the crack of dawn tomorrow and will be gone through Monday of next week, so you probably won’t be hearing much from me until we get back. ¬†Until then, you can follow our adventures on Instagram!

Beachy Keen

As excited as we are for our Little Monkey to get here, the hubby and I are trying to soak up as much couple time as we can while it’s still just the two of us. ¬†We headed to Rockaway for a romantic little day on the beach complete with yummy arepas from Caracas, beautiful weather, good reading material, and great conversation. ¬†These pics are from 37.5 weeks pregnant, and today marks 38!

Find the Sun {Waveborn}

My Waveborn sunnies arrived in the mail, and I was super excited to rock them this past weekend!  For each pair of Italian designed and handcrafted shades you purchase, Waveborn provides a new pair of prescription eyeglasses or funds a portion of vision-restoring cataract surgery for a person in need through their partners Unite for Sight and SEE International.

They are currently hosting a crowdfunding campaign so they can continue to bring you more styles and colors for 2013.  They raised over $10,000 on the first day of their campaign, and the numbers are still increasing.  There is still plenty of time to join the campaign, so check it out!

I was very excited to find this colorful maxi dress for such a bargain price at Target this past week! ¬†Typically, with my 5’0 stature, it’s very difficult for me to find a maxi dress that isn’t too long. ¬†I suppose since this dress was in the “juniors” section, maybe it was a bit shorter. ¬†Or could it be because I’m now sporting a little baby bump? ¬†Either way, I plan on rocking maxi dresses all summer long. ¬†Frankly, I have found the majority of maternity clothes I have come across to be old-looking, frumpy, and just plain ugly. ¬†Of course, there have been some good finds here and there, but I am beginning to think gorgeous maxis from the regular sections (sans ones with zippers) may be the way to go this spring/summer!

Happy Hump Day!

There’s nothing I love more than a pop of neon to accessorize an outfit. ¬†This spring and summer, neon is all the rage, and these are some of my favorite finds. ¬†The weather has been up and down these past few weeks, and I am looking forward to the days when there will be some steady warmth around here. ¬†These bright colors make me happy and can definitely spice up a neutral look.
I had this post prepared for Friday, but in light of the manhunt in Boston, and us having to travel up there for a wedding that day, I thought it was not appropriate. ¬†It was an insane morning, but we made it to the suburbs of Boston safely. ¬†The wedding ceremony had to be moved because of the lockdown, but the show went on! ¬†My dear friend Jamie got married to his bride Kaitlyn, and it was a beautiful wedding. ¬†Jamie and I have known each other since freshman year of high school, and he was my first guy friend at ASHS. ¬†We’ve been through a lot over the years, and it was awesome to be there to celebrate his big day! ¬†With the craziness going on in Boston, this wedding showed there was still some love in the air. ¬†Stay tuned later in the week for some photos from this event!
Since officials were able to catch the second Boston Marathon bomber, we also got the chance to visit with my college roomie, Danielle, (otherwise known at Stewey…don’t ask) along with her husband and baby. ¬†We had a great time walking around the city with them, going out to eat, and seeing first hand what it’s going to be like for us when our Lil’ Monkey gets here.
Unfortunately, I think I caught a cold over the weekend.  I am home with a nasty little bug today.  I hope you all have a good week ahead.

Spring Has Sprung {Guilty Jean Series #1}

Here is the first outfit post from my Guilty Jean series, and this is one of my favorite looks of the bunch. ¬†The weather was gorgeous for the first time this spring, and I was clearly loving it! ¬†This look is girly, flirty, and fun, but definitely has a bit of edge as well. ¬†When I found this dress and floral crown, I immediately couldn’t wait to add my Guilty Jean jewelry to complete the look. ¬†I love how the skull and bow necklace sits at the perfect length, and the pop of turquoise on the bracelet is a perfect compliment to the pink and black color palette. ¬†Spring has finally sprung!

Of course, now that I am back in New York, I am feeling much chillier temps this week.  I am eager for that sunny, warm weather I experienced in Maryland this past weekend!  Come back to me!

This week has been a bit busy with unpacking, eating Easter leftovers, a girl’s night, and tonight I have photography class. Hope you are all having a good week so far!
