Feeling Like Fall

Top: J. Crew Factory – sold out but other colors here / Hat: J. Crew Factory / Denim: AG Jeans / Booties: Target / Lip: MAC Rebel

Friday night post whoooo! Maybe some of you are as lame as me and able to read this tonight…maybe not ūüėČ Either way, hopefully you get a chance to check it out at some point over the weekend haha.

I took these photos last weekend when it was truly starting to feel like fall and then we had a week of 80 degree weather!!!! LOL! Go figure! I scored this J. Crew top and hat over at the Factory outlet on summer vacation, and was excited to finally bust them out.

You may have gotten a glimpse of my crazy week over on Facebook, but things are looking up and trying to focus on the positive. Last weekend we had good friends in town and took them up to Bear Mountain for an awesome fall hike. We made it to the top, and I was incredibly impressed that my 3 year old did 95% of the hike himself! I carried the baby on my back which was an extra workout, and we had a great time catching up while enjoying the great outdoors. Tomorrow we are on the road to Maryland to reunite and celebrate a dear friend who has a baby on the way.

In other news, I have the BIGGEST popcorn and pandas giveaway of the YEAR coming up which I will announce here on MONDAY!!!! So make sure you come on back to see what it’s all about! ūüôā

Happy Weekend!

P.S. I need a haircut. Any good ideas? Throw them my way! ūüėČ

Beach Bum

The hubby and I spent my birthday weekend with a beautiful little day on the beach.  The weather was gorgeous, not too hot, with a lovely breeze, and the water was the perfect temperature for swimming.  It was such a relaxing day to get a little sun and some reading done.  Seeing as we went to Brighton, we decided to embark on some Russian cuisine at the casual Ocean View Cafe for dinner, which was very delicious and definitely recommended.  After our beach day, we showered up, and went to sing a little karaoke at Mr. Biggs in Hells Kitchen with friends.  It was a perfect day!

The tribal tote pictured above was a b-day gift from my awesome hubby, and the fedora was a little something I picked up at a boutique near my office last week.

Besides celebrating my 29th birthday this weekend (we also had dinner at the amazing Vitae), we were also able to get some errands done, and start on “Project Nursery.” ¬†While we still have a ton of work to do, it was nice to get started with a big dent of progress. ¬†Today marks 34 weeks; time is inching close and closer until the day we will meet our little man.

Hope you all are having a great week so far.

There’s nothing I love more than a pop of neon to accessorize an outfit. ¬†This spring and summer, neon is all the rage, and these are some of my favorite finds. ¬†The weather has been up and down these past few weeks, and I am looking forward to the days when there will be some steady warmth around here. ¬†These bright colors make me happy and can definitely spice up a neutral look.
I had this post prepared for Friday, but in light of the manhunt in Boston, and us having to travel up there for a wedding that day, I thought it was not appropriate. ¬†It was an insane morning, but we made it to the suburbs of Boston safely. ¬†The wedding ceremony had to be moved because of the lockdown, but the show went on! ¬†My dear friend Jamie got married to his bride Kaitlyn, and it was a beautiful wedding. ¬†Jamie and I have known each other since freshman year of high school, and he was my first guy friend at ASHS. ¬†We’ve been through a lot over the years, and it was awesome to be there to celebrate his big day! ¬†With the craziness going on in Boston, this wedding showed there was still some love in the air. ¬†Stay tuned later in the week for some photos from this event!
Since officials were able to catch the second Boston Marathon bomber, we also got the chance to visit with my college roomie, Danielle, (otherwise known at Stewey…don’t ask) along with her husband and baby. ¬†We had a great time walking around the city with them, going out to eat, and seeing first hand what it’s going to be like for us when our Lil’ Monkey gets here.
Unfortunately, I think I caught a cold over the weekend.  I am home with a nasty little bug today.  I hope you all have a good week ahead.
