Friday night post whoooo! Maybe some of you are as lame as me and able to read this tonight…maybe not ūüėČ Either way, hopefully you get a chance to check it out at some point over the weekend haha.

I took these photos last weekend when it was truly starting to feel like fall and then we had a week of 80 degree weather!!!! LOL! Go figure! I scored this J. Crew top and hat over at the Factory outlet on summer vacation, and was excited to finally bust them out.

You may have gotten a glimpse of my crazy week over on Facebook, but things are looking up and trying to focus on the positive. Last weekend we had good friends in town and took them up to Bear Mountain for an awesome fall hike. We made it to the top, and I was incredibly impressed that my 3 year old did 95% of the hike himself! I carried the baby on my back which was an extra workout, and we had a great time catching up while enjoying the great outdoors. Tomorrow we are on the road to Maryland to reunite and celebrate a dear friend who has a baby on the way.

In other news, I have the BIGGEST popcorn and pandas giveaway of the YEAR coming up which I will announce here on MONDAY!!!! So make sure you come on back to see what it’s all about! ūüôā

Happy Weekend!

XO,

Gina

P.S. I need a haircut. Any good ideas? Throw them my way! ūüėČ

Out in the Country

IMG_8517_Layers_v1

This look totally said “I’m going out to the country” this past weekend. Casual, comfortable with layers¬†for a chilly morning and warm afternoon. Planning outfit shoots with a toddler in tow these days, is almost near impossible. He has no tolerance or patience for sitting still and wants to run, run, run! ¬†We often resort to pulling over on the side of the road when the little one falls asleep for a nap. Whatever works! Haha. We found this adorable green church out in the countryside of Beacon and thought it would be a perfect place to stop and shoot since we had to wait for the little guy to wake up before exploring anyway. I’m still thinking fondly of our mini get-a-away last weekend, and can’t wait for the next one.

Minnie Sweatshirt: Shop Navette (consignment shop) / Blouse: Old Navy / Denim: Rag & Bone / Booties: Target / Sunglasses: Vintage Kenneth Cole/ Bag: Thrifted / Watch: Michael Kors / Leather Wrap Bracelet: Tory Burch – similar / Lip: MAC Rebel

I’ve been on a Minnie Mouse kick recently, and when I saw this on the Shop Navette Instagram page, I knew I had to have it. ¬†I longingly commented on their post that I wished they could ship to me in Brooklyn (they are located in Annapolis, MD), and low and behold, they could! ¬†I jumped for joy, and have been rocking this sweatshirt ever since. ¬†I love how it looks a little more put together when layered with a blouse for fall.

We had friends in town this weekend, and we took them upstate to hike Bear Mountain. ¬†Little did we know, they were also having an Oktoberfest extravaganza. ¬†We walked right into a party, and at the end of our hike, I decided it was only fair that I partake in the festivities after working so hard on the hike ūüėČ ¬†We also went on a walk around the neighborhood to grab breakfast at Cafe Madeline, and had to take some photos with the fall foliage.

Back to Disney…I’m on such a Disney kick that Nico is even going to be Mickey Mouse this year for Halloween. ¬†I’m so excited that he will be more aware of the holiday this year. ¬†I have already tested out his fear factor to prep him for the big night by trying on silly and scary masks at the stores, and so far he seems completely interested and not at all scared. ¬†That’s my boy. ¬†Can’t wait to see him in his little costume. ¬†What is everyone (and their littles) going to be for Halloween? ¬†Would love to hear in the comments below!

Wishing you all a fantastic week!

Gina

Find the Sun {Waveborn}

IMG_8233_Layers_v2

My Waveborn sunnies arrived in the mail, and I was super excited to rock them this past weekend!  For each pair of Italian designed and handcrafted shades you purchase, Waveborn provides a new pair of prescription eyeglasses or funds a portion of vision-restoring cataract surgery for a person in need through their partners Unite for Sight and SEE International.

They are currently hosting a crowdfunding campaign so they can continue to bring you more styles and colors for 2013.  They raised over $10,000 on the first day of their campaign, and the numbers are still increasing.  There is still plenty of time to join the campaign, so check it out!

I was very excited to find this colorful maxi dress for such a bargain price at Target this past week! ¬†Typically, with my 5’0 stature, it’s very difficult for me to find a maxi dress that isn’t too long. ¬†I suppose since this dress was in the “juniors” section, maybe it was a bit shorter. ¬†Or could it be because I’m now sporting a little baby bump? ¬†Either way, I plan on rocking maxi dresses all summer long. ¬†Frankly, I have found the majority of maternity clothes I have come across to be old-looking, frumpy, and just plain ugly. ¬†Of course, there have been some good finds here and there, but I am beginning to think gorgeous maxis from the regular sections (sans ones with zippers) may be the way to go this spring/summer!

Happy Hump Day!

Gina

According to Pantone, Emerald is the color of the year. ¬†In celebration of both St. Patrick’s Day and the first day of Spring this week, I thought green would be a fantastic color to feature. ¬†Although it’s still freezing cold outside in New York City, I am hopeful for some upcoming warm weather. ¬†I’m looking forward to seeing all the green sprout up in the parks, on the trees, and all the flowers blooming. ¬†I am also looking forward to putting away my winter coats for the season, and breaking out some new Spring attire. ¬†If we could only get these snow flurries to calm down!
What article of clothing are you just dying to pull out of the closet and rock this Spring?
Happy Thursday!

Marvelous Mustard

Mustard Blazer: Piperlime by Tinley Road / Blouse: Piperlime by Ark & Co. / Jeans: Seven for All Mankind / Sequined Ballet Flats: Nine West Outlet / Chevron Ring Stack: BaubleBar / Bracelets: J. Crew, BaubleBar (black sold out Рin light blue or light pink), BaubleBar, Wanderlust + Co / Lip: Lancome All Done Up / Nails: Essie Over the Edge

I’ve been scouring the world wide web for a yellow blazer, and I finally found the perfect one at Piperlime! ¬†As much as I love going shopping, I rarely get out to the stores as much as I used to because of my busy travel schedule. ¬†So lately, I have resorted to internet shopping. ¬†I know that can usually be hit or miss, but recently, I have managed to get a lot more hits! ¬†I have found that the more reviews on the product the better, so you can see beforehand if it’s worth the buy. ¬†I hit gold at Piperlime with both this blazer and the blouse underneath. ¬†And to top off the look, I recently purchased this Chevron Stack ring from BaubleBar. ¬†They did a collection with blogger Blaire Eadie of Atlantic-Pacific, and there are tons of amazing pieces I suggest you check out. ¬†I liked this one in particular, because it comes with 5 colors of stackable rings which you can mix and match according to your outfit or preference that day.
