Don’t let the rain get you down! Although it’s dark and gray outside, your outfit doesn’t have to follow suit. Brighten up this rainy day gloom with some color in your wardrobe. I scored these amazing oxfords on Hautelook for only $16! Yes, you read that right. I paired them with a tribal print dress and some colorful tights to bright up my mood over the weekend as I headed to the sunglass convention to see my friends at Waveborn. We had a lot of fun trying on all their new styles for spring, and Nico enjoyed trying on the Babiators as well. Isn’t he the cutest?

So, when I had to remove my white blazer the other day, it was pretty chilly out, and I had nothing left but short sleeves. In my attempt to keep warm, we stumbled into a little boutique in Park Slope, Brooklyn called Habit. It was my first time in the store, and I was quite delighted! It was filled with lots of stylish clothing, jewelry, and great accessories at prices that don’t break the bank. I found this sweater wrap to keep me warm and decided to throw in this hat while I was at it. I’m sure they will both get plenty of wear this season and next.
I am just about finished packing for our trip to Florida! Looking forward to a relaxing trip with my parents and grandmother at her condo in St. Pete Beach. We leave at the crack of dawn tomorrow and will be gone through Monday of next week, so you probably won’t be hearing much from me until we get back. This is one of my favorite jackets to wear for fall, and you can see I wore it last fall as well. I received this beautiful necklace as a new mommy gift from a friend, and I just couldn’t wait to style it! I have been reluctant to do a full shopping spree this season since I am in a bit of a limbo period where some of my old clothes still fit, but some of them are still too small. I am hesitant to go out and buy a bunch of new clothes in bigger sizes than my “normal.” (especially pants.) So all the items here have been recycled from my current closet. Everything you see here has been worn in a previous post, but I mixed and matched to create this new look for the season.

Hope you all had a great weekend. We celebrated Nico’s 1st Halloween party with the parents and babies in the neighborhood, carved a pumpkin, took a couple walks and did some things around the house. Nico has his 2 month doctor’s appointment this week (wow, 2 months already!) and it’s also Halloween! Not sure if we will actually walk around with him this year or we will just give out candy on the stoop. What are your plans this Halloween? Or what did you do to celebrate this past weekend?

The 4th of July is right around the corner, and I decided to put together this little red, white, and blue inspiration board to put me in the mood! We are getting extremely excited for our upcoming mini-vacation to the cutest lake-side cottage in Maine. But first, we have a wedding to celebrate on Maryland’s Eastern Shore! We are headed down there tonight to celebrate our friends Kurt and Tiffany tomorrow, and we couldn’t be more excited.

For one reason or another, it proved easier for me to take photos on my phone while in Phoenix. This first photo is from my DSLR, but the rest were snapped from my iPhone. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have already seen some of these, but here is a little more description about our travels.
We arrived first to the Tempe area and stopped at the Mystery Castle. It is a house that was built out of recycled and found materials of the area. It was constructed in the 1930’s by a father for his daughter who didn’t want her “sand castle to wash away.” It was an interesting stop off with a cool backstory, and the house was unique with tons of art and crafts produced by the family, mostly the daughter.
We then headed to Mill Avenue, home of Arizona State University. We drove around the campus exploring, walked around the town to the different shops, and then stopped off for lunch at Caffe Boa, which was absolutely delicious. Being Cinco de Mayo, I expected it to be a little more crazy than it was considering ASU is supposedly the “#1 Party School in America,” but I think students were graduating and finishing up their finals…and it was also a Sunday.
We later arrived at our hotel, Hilton Tipatio Cliffs Resort, which was absolutely stunning. The views were gorgeous, and I couldn’t wait to jump in the fabulous pools. However, we were zonked, so we crashed for the night.
The next morning we woke up and decided to hike the short but steep climb, the North Mountain Trail, which was surprisingly connected right to our hotel (as well as at least three or more other trails). It was pretty great, and we got some nice views of downtown Phoenix as well. After the hike, we suited up and headed to the pool for the day. A (virgin) pina colada, sunshine, swimming, and a good book was just my idea of vacation that day!
That night, we met up with some cousins of mine who moved to Phoenix about 10 years ago, and went to dinner at a great Mediterranean place called Fez. It was so wonderful to catch up with them and share stories after not seeing each other for so many years.
We were also able to meet a family friend in Phoenix before we went on to our next destination, so we were happy to be able to make our rounds and see everyone we had planned on! That about sums up our time in Phoenix until the end of the trip. Stay tuned for my next post of Arizona adventures!

FYI…my bathing suit is my first maternity one from Target. The book I’m reading is Bringing up Bebe – an American mother discovers the wisdom of French parenting. I would definitely recommend this to all expecting mommies!
It’s supposed to be sunny and warm here today in NYC, but I’m still waiting for the clouds to part. Hubby returns from ATL tonight, and I am definitely looking forward to it!
The weather was beautiful in Southern Arizona, and I was so happy to be rockin’ a sleeveless dress with no jacket! I wore this little handkerchief hem dress to the Sonoran Desert Museum in Tucson, and I even got a little suntan! This flowy little number was perfect for my prego belly and very comfortable in cotton. And I must mention that this dress is not a maternity dress! I have found that by buying dresses san zippers and in comfy material, I can find items that are much more fashion forward than the typical things I have been finding in the maternity sections (although there have been some good exceptions!)
Today is overcast, a little rainy, and a little chilly here in New York, making me miss that Arizona sun! This week I’ve been trying to play catch up at work, at the doctor’s, with my DVR, and on life in general. Hubby had to skip town for a quick business trip to Atlanta, so we are going to celebrate our two year anniversary (bc Arizona just wasn’t enough) with a date night when he returns on Friday.
My Waveborn sunnies arrived in the mail, and I was super excited to rock them this past weekend! They are currently hosting a crowdfunding campaign so they can continue to bring you more styles and colors for 2013. They raised over $10,000 on the first day of their campaign, and the numbers are still increasing. There is still plenty of time to join the campaign, so check it out!
I was very excited to find this colorful maxi dress for such a bargain price at Target this past week! Typically, with my 5’0 stature, it’s very difficult for me to find a maxi dress that isn’t too long. I suppose since this dress was in the “juniors” section, maybe it was a bit shorter. Or could it be because I’m now sporting a little baby bump? Either way, I plan on rocking maxi dresses all summer long. Frankly, I have found the majority of maternity clothes I have come across to be old-looking, frumpy, and just plain ugly. Of course, there have been some good finds here and there, but I am beginning to think gorgeous maxis from the regular sections (sans ones with zippers) may be the way to go this spring/summer!
Here’s Part II of our little girl’s weekend in NYC. Sunday, we got bagels at the best place in the city. And yes, you can quote me on that. We then ventured into Manhattan to do a little shopping and take a walk on the High Line. For those of you who have never been, this park was built on top of an old abandoned elevated train track and runs down Manhattan’s West Side. It’s so unique, and provides wonderful views of the city. It was a gorgeous day, and I think the girls enjoyed it!

Today brings a doc appointment and my 2nd to last photography class. Hoping for a good report on the first and to learn as much as I can during the latter.
Crazy enough, we have a trip to Boston coming up on Friday for a dear friend’s wedding. It still breaks my heart that people could purposefully cause harm to so many innocent others. I am still praying for all of those in Boston that were affected by this horrible madness. I am looking forward to the wedding and hoping it will bring some happiness and light to the Boston area. In the midst of this tragedy, it’s nice to know there is still some love out there.
This is my fourth and final post from the Guilty Jean series. This is one of my favorite spring/summer dresses, and I love the way the Guilty Jean jewelry adds to this boho look. According to Pantone, Emerald is the color of the year. In celebration of both St. Patrick’s Day and the first day of Spring this week, I thought green would be a fantastic color to feature. Although it’s still freezing cold outside in New York City, I am hopeful for some upcoming warm weather. I’m looking forward to seeing all the green sprout up in the parks, on the trees, and all the flowers blooming. I am also looking forward to putting away my winter coats for the season, and breaking out some new Spring attire. If we could only get these snow flurries to calm down!
