Moto Leggings: Tobi (on sale!) / Coat: ZARA Рsimilar here and here / Sweater: Madewell via Trunk Club Рsold out but loving this color / Booties: H&M / Scarf: Gifted Рalso like this one / Sunnies: Brickyard Buffalo

Moto leggings are all the rage this season, and I have to say I am jumping on this train full force and loving it. I got my first pair from Trunk Club in an olive green, so when I saw these black babies from Tobi I HAD to have them in my closet! As a New Yorker, black is a go-to color in my wardrobe, and these will basically go with ANYTHING, so I was super excited to snag them. I just love the detail on the front of the thigh, and the zips down the size give them a little edge. They are super comfortable and the material is flattering, stretchy, and forgiving. I can pretty much guarantee these are going to get a lot of wear from me this season and beyond. Added bonus…these are currently on sale for 50% off.

This puffer coat from ZARA is also on heavy rotation this winter as 1) it’s WARM…and let’s be honest…that is a high priority for me in outerwear right now! I am not a cold weather loving gal, so staying bundled up is key. And 2) it’s a cuter puffer coat than most with the faux fur hood and leopard lining. It can be tough to make a warm puffer coat look cute, but I think ZARA did well.

This olive sweater from Madewell is SUPER comfy, and I’m sad the color is unavailable, but I do also love this one and I promise it’s warm!

I want to thank you all SO much for all your love and warm wishes for our big announcement we made yesterday!!! We got so much love over on Facebook and Instagram, and I cannot say enough how grateful I am to have such an incredibly wonderful community, family, and friends. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. We feel so blessed to be welcoming a 3rd child into our family, and we are excited for all the adventures this new chapter will bring!

I’m also excited to my experiences with you this time around when it comes to health, exercise, fashion, mom life and more!

Hope you’re all having an amazing week!

XO,

Gina

Family Maternity Shoot With Misa*Me

PP_Notes_Maternity_008

I am absolutely incredibly lucky and grateful to have a first cousin and bestie who is an impeccable photographer! Marisa Crider of Misa*Me Photography snapped these photos of my little growing family during our larger family reunion back in the month of June when I was 30 weeks pregnant. It was a hot summer day, and somehow she was able to capture some great shots even with a cranky toddler. It started to rain a bit during the shoot, and then all of the sudden, the sun peeked out. I’m telling you, she is a miracle worker! I love the way she is able to capture the light. She took so many more fabulous photos for us, and it’s going to be a tough decision as to which ones end up on the walls of our home! These were some of my favorites that captured all (almost) four of us. Now, here, at 38 weeks, I cannot even believe that we are about to meet our little guy here soon!

{35} Lately

photo (40)

Lately I’ve been…

reading¬†¬†Been reading a bunch of books at once these days. Tag teaming a business book and a fun book. Just finished Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook. It’s a great read for anyone who works in the social media industry or just has a general interest in social media. I am also reading House Rules by Jodi Picoult as something lighter and non-business related for summertime. And lastly, planning on beginning to read Start With Why by Simon Sinek this week about how great leaders inspire people to take action.

writing ¬†Thank you cards for everyone who attended Nico’s 2nd Birthday Party and for those who have showered our 2nd baby boy with goodies as well. We are very lucky to have such great family and friends.

listening  Inspirational Podcasts. Here is a good list for entrepreneurs. Do you have a good one to add to the list?

thinking ¬†I can’t believe it’s almost time to have this baby! And that I am going to be surrounded by BOYS!

smelling  BBQ Chicken my hubby made for dinner. So delish!

watching  The Real Housewives of Orange County and New York. Yes. Guilty. Guilty. Guilty. Hey, every girl needs a little trashy TV downtime.

wishing  For a smooth labor and delivery. And for my water to break at home or at the hospital and not in some crazy public place.

hoping ¬†That being said…hoping that baby comes before they decide I need to be induced like my last pregnancy! Grow baby, grow!

wearing ¬†Leggings, maternity shorts, stretchy tanks and maternity tops, maxi dresses. Anything that isn’t extremely hot to wear and that I can still walk around in. There is a reason you haven’t seen a fashion post up lately haha…there’s not much to report these days! Comfort is key to maternity survival in this heat!

loving  My new redecorated and cleaned out office space in my sunroom. Looking for more prints to hang and still need to install the knobs on the desk (which came today, yay!), and some curtains, but I am excited!

wanting  To try some recipes in the new cookbook, FIXATE, by Autumn Calabrese! They look so good!

needing  To keep walking! Exercise is getting a little tougher these days as I hit the 38 week mark of my pregnancy yesterday, but trying to keep things moving, and hopefully that will help this baby arrive soon.

feeling ¬†Like I have to pee constantly. TMI? Sorry, just keepin’ it real over here.

craving  Chocolate. Chocolate. More Chocolate. If you know me, you know I generally crave fruitier desserts, but for some reason, I am all about that chocolate in the past couple weeks. Baby has a sweet tooth!

Also a fan of these suits from grey dog (not pictured).
Memorial Day Weekend has passed which means it’s officially summer in my eyes! ¬†We went north to New Hampshire over the weekend, and lucky for me, I didn’t have to put on a bathing suit. ¬†I know lots of women tend to be self conscious at the beginning of summer. ¬†Leftover weight from the holidays that hasn’t come off‚Ķpasty pale skin that hasn’t gotten tan yet. ¬†You know the drill. ¬†It’s normal. ¬†Only this summer, I’m feeling a bit more self conscious than usual. ¬†I mean, last year I was pregnant in a bathing suit, so as uncomfortable as that might be, at least I felt that I could own my body and be proud that I was carrying a little guy in there. ¬†Now, 9 months post birth, I am feeling great, and I have shrank back to my pre-pregnancy weight‚Ķand even back almost to my wedding weight! ¬†I should be screaming and jumping for joy at my accomplishment! ¬†However, it’s been said time and time again not to look at the scale. ¬†The scale does not measure how you look and feel. ¬†My body has been through a year, oh it has. ¬†I’ve been stretched out and starved for time and I’m completely out of shape. ¬†Breastfeeding and walking have gotten the weight off, but my body looks completely different than I am used to. ¬†My belly is much squishier, and that jiggle jiggle is anything but attractive. ¬†I have been patient with getting back to my normal self. ¬†No crazy diets or workouts here. ¬†Just steady walking, breastfeeding, and trying to eat healthy when I can. ¬†What I really need is time to tone. ¬†Or maybe I just need to make it a priority. ¬†It’s tough, this mom thing. ¬†By the time I get home from work, it’s time for Nico’s bath and bedtime routine. ¬†After that, it’s cooking, dinner, clean-up, and I maaaaybe have an hour or so to get anything done, yet I am exhausted. ¬†The last thing I want to do is a work out at 10pm that would keep me up even later with all the adrenaline. ¬†I do hope and plan to get back on some kind of fitness routine in the near future, but in the meantime‚Ķit’s bathing suit season people, and what is a¬†beach-loving¬†mommy to do?
Well‚ĶI have decided to embrace and love the body I currently have and find a suit that flatters it as much as I can. ¬†Work with what ya got, right? ¬†Besides, my body got this way because of the incredible tiny human who now fills my life with so much joy. ¬†There is something to be said for that. ¬†We moms make sacrifices for our children every day, and if a little extra belly fat is what it takes to be blessed with such an amazing little boy, then so be it. ¬†Luckily, vintage/mod/retro style suits are all the rage right now, and I am planning on rocking an adorable high waisted swimsuit or one-piece this summer. ¬†Who says you can’t look hot in a onesie!? ¬†The most important thing is that I am comfortable, so I am going to go with what works for me right now.
Would love to hear from any new mamas on what you plan on donning to the beach this summer?  OR if you have any great fitness routines that you swear by, I would love to hear from you as well!
Hope you have a happy one!

Gina

Rainy Day Essentials

As I sit and listen to the rain fall against my windowpane, it only seemed appropriate to put together a collection of rainy day essentials. ¬†While the saying goes, “April showers bring May flowers, I’m willing to bet we will still get a fair amount of rain this spring. ¬†These pieces help to embrace the stormy weather while we wait for brighter days.
Rainy Day Essentials
1. ¬†Wide Brim Hat: ASOS¬†– To cover your head on those days when it’s sprinkling or when it’s too windy for your umbrella.
2.  Umbrella Studs: Etsy РEmbrace the rainy day with these adorable studs.
3.  Panda Umbrella: ModCloth РI mean, is this not the cutest umbrella you have ever seen?!  I need this.
4.  Waterproof Mascara: Tarte РBecause running mascara is not a good look.
4.  Rainboots: Hunter РRainboots are a must in the city, and these bright pink ones boost my mood on a rainy day.
5.  Hairspray : Dove РFor those frizzy fly-aways, because we all know rain equals a bad hair day.
6.  Teapot: Occa Home РThe most adorable vintage teapot, because there is nothing like a cup of hot tea while you watch the rain fall.
7.  Rain Earrings: Etsy РRemember when we were kids and we used to splash through the puddles and get excited about the rain? These earrings bring me back to that place.
¬†8. ¬†Raincoat: ModCloth¬†– Who says you can’t look cute in the rain? ¬†The polka dot raincoat is fabulous!
Happy Rainy Thursday!

2014 has had a crazy start! ¬†I started back up to work, and have been trying to figure out how to be a working mom. ¬†Right now I’m trying to cram all my work into three days and still have time to pump three times a day to make sure my boy has enough to eat while I’m gone. ¬†When I am home with him, he is more awake than ever, and he keeps me busy all day long. ¬†It’s a lot of fun watching him grow (He rolled over for the first time this weekend! ¬†And he’s sitting up for long periods of time on his own now!), but it can definitely be exhausting! ¬†On top of that, we have been dealing with some house issues that need crucial hands on maintenance, and I’ve also been planning Nico’s upcoming Baptism. ¬†Whew!

Needless to say, my poor little blog has been getting neglected. ¬†I’ve had ideas for posts and outfits that I have wanted to blog, but life has just been getting in the way, and p + p unfortunately had to go on the back burner the past few weeks. ¬†Hopefully as we settle into our new routine, I will be able to find some time to keep things going, because I really do love having this little creative outlet!

Onto this outfit. ¬†Although, I do adore some pops of color every now and then, I do tend to go back to my comfort zone of black and white quite often! ¬†Maybe it’s the New York in me. ¬†I’m now back in my original size jeans (yay!) which called for a shopping celebration, and I scored this striped blouse at H&M while out. ¬†The vintage locket I am wearing was a Christmas gift from my husband, and I’m absolutely in love with it. ¬†There is a family photo of the three of us inside, with three other spaces to put photos when I want to add them.

Hope you will be hearing more from me in the coming weeks!  I am glad to be back in action.

Gina

A View From Weehawken

IMG_6496

Last Saturday we made the trek out to Weehawken, New Jersey for a good friend’s housewarming party. ¬†I have driven through the Lincoln Tunnel many times, and have looked up at the houses up in the cliffs imagining the stunning views they must have of Manhattan. ¬†Well, on Saturday I no longer had to imagine as I saw this view for myself! ¬†WOW. ¬†We spent tons of time hanging out on this ledge taking photos before joining the housewarming festivities…which were also a ton of fun by the way! ¬†Congrats to my friends on their new digs and their fabulous view!

Last night we held our final screening for our Race to the Oscars. ¬†We saw the Oscar Nominated Animated Shorts program! ¬†Most people don’t get a chance to see the films in this category, so I always feel like I have an upper hand when guessing the winner. ¬†I am always impressed by the level of talent, and this year was no disappointment.

If you haven’t already entered to win my giveaway, you have two more days to score these amazing stud earrings from Flair Accessories!
